Last Painting of 2012

This is one of my 'just let it evolve' paintings, where I don't have a plan.  I painted the background and it sat for a few weeks, later I added the geometric cubes and left it for a few days.  I don't really think or consider what I am painting before or while I am working on these.  Lastly the road and men were added, upon reflection I guess the 'times' and current predictions of 'end times', surely played a part in this non-planned work.    The few I do in this way are usually completely of my imagination, as I just sit down and paint without thinking.  Sometimes I an listening to a book on tape, or talking on the phone, so I truely am not actively thinking about what I am painting.   Most often my paintings are planned, and I basically know what I want before I even sketch it out.   It is 11x14 stretched canvas with acrylic, and the last painting of the year.  Happy New Year!   :)
